The Golden Age Club of North Haledon

The North Haledon Golden Age Club is an organization which is comprised of a group of high energy North Haledon senior citizens (55 years and older).
The Club was founded on June 10, 1960 and it continues, to this day, to be a very viable part of the North Haledon community addressing the social needs of its members. Membership in the Club is easy to come by and we pride ourselves on welcoming residents who express an interest in gaining memberships.

lf you are a North Haledon resident who is fifty five years of age or older we encourage you to "give us a try." You will receive a warm welcome and friendly handshake. By joining the Club you will enhance and enlarge your network of North Haledon friends.

The North Haledon Golden Age Club offers a variety of activities throughout the calendar year. We meet weekly at a centralized location The American Legion Hall which is located directly across from High Mountain School on High Mountain Road. In order to attend and/or explore one of our meetings, please come to the American Legion Hall any Friday between 11:00am to 11:30am. You will be greeted at the door by our membership chairperson who will assist you in getting a cup of coffee or tea, introduce you to some members, and get you seated at a table. If you request to sit with a member you already know the membership chairperson will make that happen.

From 11:00am to 12:00pm we provide social time to interact with our friends. During this time we serve pastry, pizza, soup, finger sandwiches, etc. depending on a monthly rotation. At 12:00pm a brief 20 minute business meeting is conducted by the Club's elected officers. Following the business meeting, time is provided for additional informal socialization among members or varied activities including entertainment, guest speakers, view movies or informative slide presentations, bingo playing time, etc. Periodically in the place of snacks, members are treated to luncheons provided by the Club itself or by varied community agencies.

Other favorite activities among members are the numerous bus trips we offer. These trips include attending dinner theaters, boat trips, visiting casinos, taking varied tours and many more off-site experiences.

Club members are also committed to supporting traditional community events such as North Haledon Day, Food Truck Day, Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day ceremonies, Public Library activities, etc.

So, if you are 55+ years of age and wish to try your hand at membership give us a go. You will be happy that you did. See you any Friday.
